ART BY HAND- THE STORY

ART BY HAND works to provide unique portraits, all BY HAND. Whether as a gifts for a friend, family member, or a special someone, we can provide quality hand done portraits in either pencil or paint for all occasions.

After completing his bachelor's degree (BSc Construction Management) at UCL in 2019, he worked as a Design Assistant at one of the world's leading construction firms, Mace. He found that there were others at Mace who shared similar interests in Art outside of work, but never had the opportunity to pursue it due to the busy life in the city. As a result, he was challenged, and made the courageous decision to leave the comfort in the city, in order to practice as a Fine Artist, whilst teaching and studying his masters at The University of Cambridge.

ART BY HAND was set up by Joshua Obichere, an artist and art educator. He is also the founder of Skin Deep Education, which started as a result of his Master in Education at the University of Cambridge (2022). Since then, he has gained his MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins (UAL) with a distinction and has developed his art practice. 

 

Currently aged 27, he has always been encouraged to pursue a path in Fine Art as his talent was noticed from a very young age. Joshua found the courage to set up ART BY HAND and recognised a lot of positive feedback and requests. This was a platform and a God-given talent that he could no longer keep behind closed doors.
